How much does a container of used engines cost?

Most suppliers answer this question with 'contact us'. Here is the actual arithmetic, using the per-unit prices we publish, so you can budget a container before you ever message anyone.

Wholesale onlyMinimum order is one sealed container — 90 engines in a 20-ft or 130 in a 40-ft. We do not sell single units. Sixteen models carry published prices; 30+ other makes are sourced by the container on request.

The three numbers that set the total

A container price is quantity × per-unit price + freight. The quantity is fixed — 90 engines in a 20-ft, 130 in a 40-ft, never fewer and never more, because 130 and 90 are our standard loads and do not move with the mix. The per-unit price depends on the model mix. Freight is charged per container, by lane, and moves with the market.

The per-unit prices, published

ENGICOR publishes wholesale per-unit prices for sixteen models, valid for full-container orders. The five Toyota focus codes: 1NZ-FE and 2NZ-FE at USD 780, 2ZR-FE at USD 410, 2TR-FE at USD 2,870 and 2AZ-FE at USD 520. The wider published range: Toyota 1GR-FE at USD 4,090, Nissan QR25DE at USD 470 and VQ35DE at USD 1,950, Isuzu 4JB1 at USD 470, and the Hyundai-Kia range — G4FA and G4FC at USD 340, G4FG at USD 490, G4KA at USD 450, G4KD at USD 500, G4KE at USD 730 and G4NA at USD 740. Everything else in the catalogue — the 2KD diesel and the 30-plus other makes — is priced on request, because sourcing cost moves with availability.

Worked examples

A 20-ft loaded entirely with 1NZ-FE: 90 × 780 = USD 70,200 in engines, before freight. A 20-ft of 2ZR-FE: 90 × 410 = USD 36,900. A mixed 40-ft — say 100 units of 1NZ/2NZ and 30 of 2AZ — lands at 100 × 780 + 30 × 520 = USD 93,600.

These are engine totals at published prices, not quotations: the final figure for your shipment, engines plus freight to your port, is confirmed in writing before payment, always.

What freight adds

Sea freight is per container, not per engine, which is why the 40-ft always carries the lower freight cost per unit — the same box fee spread over 130 units instead of 90. The rate depends on your discharge port and the season; your forwarder or ours will quote the current figure for your lane.

What matters for budgeting: freight is typically a small fraction of the engine total on a full container, and it rewards the 40-ft — but only if 130 units sell through at your counter. If they take six months to clear, the freight saving is smaller than the cost of the capital sitting still.

Why the cheap quote is usually the expensive one

A container quoted meaningfully below the arithmetic above is answering a different question — usually with ungraded stock, mixed grades sold as tested, or engines that exist only in the photos. Every ENGICOR unit is Grade A: inspected, tested, serialized and photographed in Guangzhou before sale, and approved by you unit by unit before loading. That is what the per-unit price buys.

Build the mix you want in the online quoter — exactly 90 units in a 20-ft or 130 in a 40-ft — and the FOB total reaches your inbox the same minute, at our published per-unit prices, every unit Grade A. Frequently asked

Is the price per engine or per container?

Published prices are per unit, for full-container orders — 90 units in a 20-ft or 130 in a 40-ft. The container total is the sum of the mix you choose, plus freight for your lane.

Can I get a lower per-unit price on a 40-ft?

The published per-unit prices are the same; what falls on a 40-ft is the freight cost per unit, because one container fee covers 130 units instead of 90.

Do the published prices include shipping?

No. Engines and freight are quoted separately because freight depends on your port and the season. Both appear, in writing, in the quotation you confirm before payment.

Can I order half a container to try?

No. The quantity is fixed at 90 or 130 units and we ship neither fewer nor more. A 20-ft of 90 units is the entry point, and it is deliberately the size a first-time importer can sell through.
