Korean platforms lead the demand
Hyundai and Kia have a deep footprint in the Egyptian parc, and the replacement-engine market reflects that far more than it does in East Africa. Theta, Nu and G4 stock moves here in numbers that surprise suppliers used to Toyota-dominant markets.
Japanese petrol still sells, and light commercial diesel has a steady base, but a container built for Egypt should not look like a container built for Kenya.
Paperwork decides whether this lane works
Egyptian import procedures for used automotive components are detailed and enforced. We screen the lane before quoting and prepare documentation against what your customs broker confirms is currently required — not against what was required last year.
If your broker tells you something different from what we assumed, tell us before the container is booked. Changing paperwork on paper is cheap; changing it at the port is not.
Documentation
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and bill of lading, HS 8407 and 8408, plus any registration or inspection documentation your broker specifies for the shipment.
